Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 23, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how emailslice.app (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use Slice at https://emailslice.app.
1. Who we are
Slice is operated by emailslice.app. For privacy questions or requests, contact hello@emailslice.app.
2. Information we collect
Account information
When you sign up, we receive information from our authentication provider (such as your name, email address, and profile image) to create and secure your account.
Workspace and project data
We store organizations, brands, email projects, slice layouts, alt text, links, and related metadata you create in the service so you can reopen and publish work.
Email images and AI processing
When you use auto-slice or auto alt text, your email images are sent to our servers and AI providers for analysis. Slicing preview runs locally in your browser; publishing uploads finished slices to Klaviyo when you choose to publish.
Payment information
We do not collect or store your full payment card details. Paddle, our merchant of record, processes payments and collects billing information needed to complete transactions. See Paddle’s Privacy Policy for how they handle payment data.
Usage and technical data
We collect basic technical information such as browser type, device information, IP address, and logs needed to operate, secure, and improve the service.
3. How we use information
We use information to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve Slice
- Authenticate you and manage your account and workspace
- Process AI-assisted slicing and alt-text generation
- Publish content to Klaviyo when you request it
- Respond to support requests and send service-related messages
- Detect abuse, fraud, and security issues
- Comply with legal obligations
4. Legal bases (EEA/UK)
Where GDPR applies, we process personal data based on: performance of our contract with you; legitimate interests in operating and securing the service; compliance with legal obligations; and, where required, your consent.
5. How we share information
We share information with service providers that help us run Slice, including:
- Authentication (e.g. Clerk) — account sign-in and session management
- Payments (Paddle) — subscription billing and tax compliance as merchant of record
- Email platform (Klaviyo) — when you connect an account and publish templates
- Cloud infrastructure (e.g. Cloudflare) — hosting and API delivery
- AI providers — to analyze images for slicing and alt text when you use those features
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a merger or acquisition.
We do not sell your personal information.
6. Data retention
We keep account and project data while your account is active. Archived emails are permanently deleted after 30 days. If you delete content or close your account, we delete or anonymize data within a reasonable period unless we must retain it for legal, security, or backup purposes.
7. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
8. International transfers
We and our providers may process data in countries other than where you live. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, object to or restrict certain processing, and withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, email hello@emailslice.app.
For payment-related data held by Paddle, you may also contact Paddle through Paddle’s privacy portal or their privacy policy.
10. Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies for authentication, security, and basic site functionality. You can control cookies through your browser settings; some features may not work if cookies are disabled.
11. Children
Slice is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
12. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post changes on this page and update the “Last updated” date.
